March 6 to May 1, 2010 - Chubby Challenge

Well the CHUBBY CHALLENGE which went from March 6th to May 1st was in support of the Carpenter Hospice.  We had 19 participants and the goal was to loose 7% of their weigh in weight (March 6th) by weigh out date ( May 1st.)  The results are in and there were several contestants that achieved their goals.  A total of $500 was raised for the Hospice and the person who lost the highest percentage of their original weight was ........drum roll please ...... Lee DeDauw who lost a total of 21 pounds and 10% of his original weight.( you can do the math...boy Lee were you chubby).   Greg Moore was a close 2nd with 9.5% lost from his original weight.  Congrats to everyone who made their goal and when you see .....or should I say ...don't see Lee, let him know he looks fabulous.  And in case you were wondering.....our President, still is a little chubby, but hey..... he only fell 3 lbs short of his goal.....must have been those dam chicken wings the week before weigh in....!

On behalf of myself my daughter Katy Jane thank you everyone your participation was greatly appreciated.

April 1, 2010 to the end of August – BOSL's Pints 4 Pints Contest

It’s been demonstrated over and over that our league is pretty generous. We’ve raised and donated thousands of dollars every year to worthy causes. There’s no reason to expect that this will stop any time soon, because there will always be worthy causes in need of help. And we’ve found one more – one worth rolling up our sleeves for.

Starting on April 1, 2010, in cooperation with Canadian Blood Services, we will be having a league-wide competition, and we’re out for blood. The team with the most donations (see below for details) by the end of August will win the prize we as softball players covet the most: beer, and lots of it. Each of our favourite watering holes – Gator Ted’s, Judge & Jury and QB’s -- have contributed a total of $200 to lateseason parties for the league’s most prolific bleeders.

Click here for the details - come on out and help out - because blood is the most precious gift!

If you have any questions, ask the contest administrator (Steve Rowsell, on Deeth & Company) or call 1-888-2-DONATE and get the official word. Thanks!
